Great writing. Thought you might be interested to know that there is an elephant (and other species) sanctuary right here outside of Gainesville in the nearby country town of Williston. I haven't been there in a long time, but they did used to have elephants painting while people watched. I'm not sure if they still do that. You can look it up, it's called Two Tails ranch.
